Half Marathon Training – Week 5

Week 5 already! This week was a bit chaotic so I am glad I managed to do most of the runs.

MONDAY – 12KM EASY PACE + PHYSIO & MOBILITY WORK

Felt good. The weather was really good and that always helps.

TUESDAY – INTERVALS (1.2K X 4) with 600m recovery

It’s not an interval session if it’s not tough. I am still finding it hard to stay consistent with my pace. I am some times faster in the start of the interval and slower at the end or vice versa. Need to work on this!

WEDNESDAY – LEG WORKOUT

I can’t believe I slept through all my alarms! Managed a decent leg workout though so not feeling completely guilty but still feeling it. I could have easily managed this one.

THURSDAY – 6KM at LT (3KM WU & 3KM CD)

Very happy with this one. I didn’t feel that tired during this workout. Slowly dialing into this pace range.

FRIDAY – 12KM EASY PACE

Fridays are the new Wednesdays! Felt just drained and wanted the run to end. Glad I got done with it.

SATURDAY – UPPER BODY + CORE

No run this Saturday since I had a super hectic Friday. Shifted the long run to Saturday and did the core and upper body workout instead.

SUNDAY – 16K EASY PACE

Not a bad end to the week. Except for the missing alarm, I managed all the runs and body is getting used to the increased volume.

WEEK 5 = 65.38 km

Keeping fingers crossed and hoping that I manage all the workouts next week!
